I have created a new bug report : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/289581 , which looks very similar to this one. In my case the log files has grown very very quickly in 2-3 hours (I'm not quite sure for the exact time) syslog, messages and kern.log were each 1.1 GB. My system began to act strangely and some services refused to start due to lack of free space on my file system. I think this is a very important bug. I have rebooted in safe mode and in the console I truncated the largest files to 0.
Take a look at my bug report here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/289581 I have attached chunks of my log files. System : 8.10 up to date $ uname -r 2.6.27-7-generic If you need more info don't hesitate to ask I have made a back up of all log files. -- [3c900B] NETDEV WATCHDOG: transmit timed out/ Resetting the Tx ring pointer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107807 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
