Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I'm running the Ubuntu 8.10 RC CD for i386. I have an AT&T Option GT Ultra Express that I have working in Hardy, using the hso drivers from Pharscape. I started with the wireless card inserted upon boot. After booting the CD, I right-clicked NM and saw no indication it had recognized my card. I was hoping that the card would be automatically configured so that I could easily start the network. I then went into the Connections dialog, Mobile Broadband tab, and added a connection using the defaults. I selected "AT&T (Tethering with data acceleration)" for the Provider. Note that the average Joe would be stymied here... After saving the new connection, I right-clicked NM and saw no indication it had recognized my card. I was expecting that something would show up here to allow me to connect. I then rebooted the CD without the card installed. After getting the desktop, I inserted the card and got an AutoRun dialog. This indicates that the ZeroCD utility is not run. I tried the steps above, but got the same result: no indication that the card is even recognized. I am left booting out of the CD unable to connect to the Internet :-( ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No Mobile Broadband with NetworkManager 0.7.0 and AT&T Option GT Ultra Express https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/289965 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
