I changed it back to the main and "Server for South Africa" respectively, but got the same problem. Then I played around with it a bit.
I let it choose the best server again, that happened to be a server in Europe and it worked. It also found about 10 MB of updates. After that I manually chose the ubuntu.mirror.ac.za server in South Africa, which reloaded fine, but had no updates. I also tried the ftp.leg.uct.ac.za server, but that took so long to update that I canceled it. Then, I took the best server option again, and this time it chose a mirror in Botswana, that has about 20MB of updates. Note that I didn't not download any of those updates yet. Should I or should I wait for the local server? So, in other words: The main and South African servers (excluding ubuntu.mirror.ac.za) is not working. Does the fact that updates differ from server to server mean that they are still busy updating?
