Bug has been confirmed with the latest intrepid beta. I was able to boot into the system only after blacklisting rtl8180. If the module is loaded and I try to bring wlan0 up (either by NetworkManager or manually), the whole system freezes.
The problem is not NetworkManager, but the kernel module itself, as after replacing NetworkManager with wicd I got the same problem of rtl8180 freezing the system. The best option would be to blacklist this kernel module before shipping 8.10 final. -- liveCD doesn't boot to gnome https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/258073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
