Thanks for the suggestions. The problems all started when I did the 8.10 upgrdade. Until then, my system was working just fine. I am a newbie with Ubuntu and Linux in general, and for the past few months have been happy with Ubuntu 8.04. Biggest mistake I made was the 8.10 upgrade... especially now that I can not find any way to rollback to 8.04. It's very discouraging to say the least. ---------------------------------------- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Date: Sun, 26 Oct 2008 15:16:00 +0000 > Subject: [Bug 289468] Re: No sound in Firefox 3.03 after Ubuntu 8.10 upgrade > > is the problem with only flash? or with other formats? > > try install libflashsupport > > or try in google: ubuntu firefox flash sound > > regards > > ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Incomplete > > -- > No sound in Firefox 3.03 after Ubuntu 8.10 upgrade > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/289468 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > > Status in “firefox-3.0” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete > > Bug description: > Binary package hint: firefox-3.0 > > No sound in Firefox 3.03 after Ubuntu 8.10 upgrade > > ProblemType: Bug > Architecture: i386 > DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 > Package: firefox-3.0 3.0.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 > ProcEnviron: > PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games > LANG=en_US.UTF-8 > SHELL=/bin/bash > SourcePackage: firefox-3.0 > Uname: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic i686
