This stuff should be taken care of by the evolution package. Also linking stuff from /etc to $HOME is nonesense as everything in $HOME should be writeable by $USER, which is not the case for fiels from /etc. Also /usr/share/application is to be used recursive, so symlinking /kde to .. doesn't make sense either, for my tasting only non-desktop library dependent apps should be in the main directory anyway.
