Very strange. I still reproduce after today's update (though I don't know 
whether I downloaded any dolphin updates :) )
Btw, this is on a USB HDD, if that anyhow makes a difference.

Maybe some screenshots would describe it better..

This dolphin1.jpeg shows the folder containing the data (folders)
Free space before copying the folders into the "deletion test" folder: 18.9GB
Free space now (after copying the folders): 18.4GB
