I can confirm this bug in both fresh hardy and intrepid installation.
How to reproduce :
1) Install a fresh hardy or intrepid system
2) Go in gdmsetup and choose the "Human List" theme
3) Click on close
4) Go back in gdmsetup
Expected results:
Human List is selected
Actual results:
Random selection is selected
** Changed in: gdm (Ubuntu)
Status: Invalid => Confirmed
