Can confirm this on 8.04 i386. The nm configuration does not work, the wlan (rt61) cannot be disabled, awakes seconds after deactivation. Under this circumstances the lan connection looks activated but does not work. I have to unplug the pccard, then windoze alike switch2 times lan on or off to catch my network. wlan is running in 11g only mode from my vigor. The profile option in nm does not really work.
whatever reactivate wlan automaticly, should be disabled when nm is installed on the system.
