** Summary changed: - Boinc will not communicate with projects + Boinc will not communicate with projects over secure connection
** Description changed: Binary package hint: boinc-client I'm using Intrepid with boinc-client 6.2.12-1. Ever since I upgraded, boinc has refused to connect to projects, giving errors like: upload temporarily failed, HTTP error Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 259200 seconds of work, reporting 1 completed tasks Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. Scheduler request failed: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates + I also tried getting the deb from Getdeb and installing it (6.2.14), but I still have this issue. + I even tried the 6.2.18 deb from http://debian.mirror.inra.fr/debian/pool/main/b/boinc/ and it still won't connect. I mentioned it in a thread here, and someone said they had the same problem, so I opened this bug. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=951246 In that thread, Kevbert posted a link to this thread http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=15682 - I looked in the cc_config.xml and there was nothing about the data_dir. + + I looked in the cc_config.xml and there was nothing about the data_dir, and I don't know where that would be in Ubuntu. I tried downloading a BOINC package from the WCG site, and copying the ca-bundle.crt to the /etc/boinc-client directory, but that didn't seem to fix it. - I also tried getting the deb from Getdeb and installing it (6.2.14), but I still have this issue. - I even tried the 6.2.18 deb from http://debian.mirror.inra.fr/debian/pool/main/b/boinc/ and it still won't connect. + I think it's related to that ca-bundle.crt, I just don't know where it needs to go. The WCG thread indicates that it only affects projects that require secure connections, which is only WCG at the moment. -- Boinc will not communicate with projects over secure connection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/286585 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
