hello Shang Wu and gnuslov i followed your steps but still i am unable to make my headphones jack work. i tried the procedure thrice but still the same result. the sound is still in my laptop speakers. any suggestions? your help is appreciated. for your information i am using ubuntu 8.04 kernel version 2.6.24-21-generic.
