1. your complete /var/log/syslog 2. your /etc/network/interfaces 3. your /etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf 4. the output you get on a terminal when running: a) dpkg -l network-manager* also attach specific information about the net you are trying to access (e.g. wired/wireless, static ip/dhcp, ...). They are attached separated by ~~~~~~~~~. nm-applet doesn't appear. Attempts to connected to an open access point failed, those attempts reflected in the attached syslog were at a library.
