Mmmmhh, i don't have that folder, nor in the place you comment, and not
in the place i knew either
/lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/kernel/drivers/net/wireless )

The only file i saw is a rtl8180.ko, same date and time as the others in
that folder. The file i was copying before after compiling is named
rt8180.ko (not rtl8180 as I see).

I've removed all those files i put there (easy, becasue all of them had
different creation time).
I don't know if i misunderstood something that you said (i'm spanish you know
;-) ) or maybe i'm doing something wrong, and the files i compile are anywhere
(for instance, i didn't take a look if the makedrv script put it there for me).

That why i would like to see if any of the users of those laptops with
this wifi card or same chipset had it working properly. I'll test the
final version from live cd once it's released.

Right now, the wifi is working, but i noticed a big bug on it: you start using
it, but after a period, the connection rate drops to 2M and hangs you from
internet.
If, after that, you commit something like: iwconfig wlan0 rate 48M, it starts
to work just after you press enter. (i got some messages on dmesg too about
this, i cannot reproduce it right now, because looks like it happens only on
wpa/wpa2 connections, and now i'm using wep 64).
