Public bug reported:

More than year passed since I reported bug that PPTP VPN can't be
configured through GUI settings easily by an average user.

Nothing changed yet in Kubuntu 8.10 x64 beta (I see some changes in
Ubuntu finally though). I still see no easy way to configure PPTP VPN
connection in Kubuntu. In contrast, Windows allows this easily. Lots of
ISPs are using PPTP VPN to authenticate internet access in my area
(there is HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS users who uses PPTP VPN just in my
city!).

Is this nasty issue going to be fixed in 8.10 so millions of Russian
users can use Kubuntu or we have to wait yet another couple of years?
This is really FRUSTRATING....
