I have a Dell Inspiron 6400, all standard out of the box. The patch ipw3945.ko works for me, sofar that I don't have any trouble starting up any more.
But, there is this mysterious message in the log: ...ipw3945: thermal sensor seems not working... I don't know what consequence this has. My laptop is not more then hand warm, in the tropics.
