Hi I have a similar problem on my Sony VAIO VGN-CR323. Suspend to RAM is fast (both going down and coming up) but Hibernate is *very* slow. From selecting "Suspend to Disk" in knetworkmanager to the machine actually powering down takes 1:14 seconds. Interestingly enough, the HDD activity light is only on for 11 seconds of this time. Would be very interesting to know what it is doing for the rest of the time :)
