I have exactly the same problem on my dell inspiron 1525 running
intrepid - even though I've assigned skype to use 'pulse' for audio
capture my built in microphone doesn't work. However, using sound
recorder I can confirm that the internal mic does actually work! This is
a rather crucial bug for me and I can't seem to find a work around.
