It will most likely be a X/kernel problem. I looked up the loaded modules and instead of i830 (the chipset I have) the new i915 is loaded. Regardless whether 915 is implementing all the stuff implemented in 830 - it's newer and probably not as stable as 830 is. What do I have to change in order to get i830 loaded again?
