SLP seems to be good for windows auto-activation, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Locked_Preinstallation so it makes sense to choose the correct BIOS if you're using the preloaded OS (which i am not). About the "others" ... well, we will see. I was using the 1.xx BIOS before (AHCI was on by default and wifi button was two-state), i'm using 3.xx now and important functionality does not seem to differ.
