For me, changing the settings with kernel 2.6.27-7-generic has no effect - the 'echo' to /sys/devices/platform/tc1100-wmi/jogdial or /wireless works, but 'cat' reveals no change (the values are always 0), wireless stays on, brightness stays un-adjustable.
