This bug has just been fixed by 9.4 update. Statistics doesn't need any meta-data included in the file, and 9.4 work with the same exact files that 9.2 and 9.3 didn't managed (they didn't show any statistic for any files, actually, before reporting the bug I did a quite thorough testing, not just one quick look on a file or 2).
"So this bug is invalid, in my opinion." Did you read the whole description (statitstic window) before forming your opinion? By the way, 9.4 manages to show codec information and statistics for /share/example-content/UbuntuFreeCultureShowcase/StopMotionUbuntu.ogv Unless the 9.4 VLC upgrade came with an updated StopMotionUbuntu.ogv, I'd say the bug report was quite valid indeed. -- [Intrepid] VLC 9.3 Statistic window and Codecs details not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276554 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
