Probably I didn't express myself clear enough. What I described above is
a bug, not something for the wishlist - or I didn't understand the logic
of the flags.

I try to explain again, and add two screenshots:

1. When I open up the adept manager and choose the Search tab, I get a 
completely empty list - even though *all* "State" and "Requested" flags are 
turned on (i.e. they are not greyed out). The attached screenshot shows how 
adept looks for me when opened.
To my understanding, the list should display *all* available packages in this 
state.

2. Only when I *deselect* the "Show packages marked for upgrade" of the 
"Requested" flags, I get a list of all packages. This is documented by the 
second screenshot. Note, that the only difference to the first screenshot is, 
that the "Show packages marked for upgrade" flag is turned off.
To my understanding, the list should now display all packages, with the 
exception of the packages that were marked for upgrade. This is actually what 
happens.

Therefore, I think something is broken with the logic of the "Show
packages marked for upgrade" flag.
