Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pidgin
Release: Ubuntu 8.04 Package Version: pidgin: Installed: 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2.1 Candidate: 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2.1 Version of pidgin: *** 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2.1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages I expected to get an IM window so I can continue my conversation. What actually happens is, you notice a sluggishness on the mouse cursor, you start to hear the HDD spin from the memory swapping. I run conky and I can monitor my top 3 CPU and RAM hogs as well as percentage of ram used. Pidgin goes to the top on both CPU usage and RAM usage. My 4 Gigs of RAM are maxed out in a matter of seconds... slowly but surely the computer comes to a halt. This was happening several times, and I noticed that the common factor was me getting an IM that I did not initiate. Oh, and the IM window never makes it to the screen. ** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- pidgin memory leak https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/282502 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
