Binary package hint: compiz-gnome
Compiz doesn't support toolbar windows, when using GIMP 2.6. With full-size
window, the toolbars go to background.
With metacity, they stay on top (and have smaller titlebar) as expected.
using:
compiz 1:0.7.8-0ubuntu2
compiz-gnome 1:0.7.8-0ubuntu2
