I can say this about 8.10 i386 beta: if I start a Gnome session, everything is ok. If I start a kde session, it hangs after a while, and switching to a console, with 'ps ax' I can see multiple lines with scim- panel-gtk. So my system becomes quite slow, and I am forced to kill manually scim-launnher and scim-panel-gtk to have the startup process completed.
