** Description changed: I installed 8.10 beta for AMD64 (ubuntu-8.10-beta-desktop-amd64.iso) on my HP TX2525nr to see if the ACPI problems were fixed. I installed to my hard drive. The heat problems appear to be fixed because it does not shut down after complaining about heat, but I cannot login at the graphical screen because the touchpad mouse and an external mouse do not move the cursor. The cursor appears to be in the login box (user name), but it does not respond to the keyboard. I expected to be able to login. + + ------------------------- + + I downloaded the nightly build for 20081006, and this version works. + The wireless connection also works.
