I tried to use the Gutsy version of genisoimage, but it didn't work for me.
I am using Ubuntu 8.04 (Dell install) on a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop. Downloaded genisoimage_1.2.1.6-1ubuntu3_i386.deb from one of the mirror the links at http://packages.ubuntu.com/nl/gutsy/i386/genisoimage/download Ran sudo dpkg genisoimage_1.1.6-1ubuntu3_i386.deb Set "lock version" for this package in Synaptic package manager. Tried to burn a DVD from MythTV (mytharchive module). Error from mythburn.log: 2008-10-08 12:46:47 Burning ISO image to /dev/dvd 2008-10-08 12:46:47 growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd -dvd-video -V "Name of DVD" /home/username/.mythtv/temp/work/dvd 2008-10-08 12:46:47 Running growisofs to burn DVD 2008-10-08 12:56:04 ------------------------------------------------------------ 2008-10-08 12:56:04 ERROR: Failed while running growisofs. 2008-10-08 12:56:04 Result 1, Command was: growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd -dvd-video -V "Name of DVD" /home/username/.mythtv/temp/work/dvd 2008-10-08 12:56:04 Please check the troubleshooting section of the README for ways to fix this error 2008-10-08 12:56:04 ------------------------------------------------------------ 2008-10-08 12:56:04 2008-10-08 12:56:04 Terminated The DVD can be read and played on my Ubuntu box, and will play using VLC player on Windows 2000, but I cannot browse the files on Windows or play it with other Windows DVD players. I don't have a standalone DVD player to try it in. I have reverted to the hardy version of genisoimage. With the hardy version, mytharchive thinks it has completed, and does not produce any error in the mythburn.log. But the DVD has the same reading problem under Windows. -- genisoimage generates wrong DVD-Video images https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/233942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
