I finally found a bug report for my cam, which uses spca561 if I understood well. I managed to see my face on the screen (yippee!) by downloading https://edge.launchpad.net/%7Estemp/+archive/+files/libv4l_0.5.0-1_i386.deb and typing "LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype" Wilson, I think you should try that, because you seems to have the same problem as me (according to what you wrote in your linked forum).
