Public bug reported: systems involved are
(1) "alpha": SuSE 9.2 based, /etc/export (extract) reads "/intradisk beta(rw,root_squash) gamma(rw,root_squash)" (2) "beta": Kubuntu 6.10 Edgy (installed from scratch by LiveCD, current updates, kubuntu hardware database cd6f858209b5b21dd911e0bd9f34078e) and (3) "gamma": SuSE 9.2 based, on both (2) and (3) /etc/fstab (extract) reads "alpha:/intradisk /intradisk nfs defaults 0 0" On (1) /intradisk and subsequent files and directories have UID/GIDs partly undefined both on (1), (2) and (3). Accessibility by root is not restricted. On (2) /intradisk as well as files and directories on first layer (/intradisk/*) have UID/GID and access rights "root.root drwxr-xr-x", in all cases diverging from those originally defined on (1). Files and directories on first layer are accessible from (2), files having the expected contents but directories appearing to be empty. (With previously installed Dapper, again from LiveCD, current updates, /intradisk appeared to be fully accessible. Not tested extensively.) On (3) /intradisk and subsequent files and directories have the UID/GIS as defined on (1), being accessible as expected. (Unknown IDs are shown by their respective numbers.) ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- nfs mount of SuSE 9.2 based resource fails on Edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/71042 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
