This could be my fault. In summary, I was trying to install Ubuntu to my 2nd
hard drive so I could play around with it. My system specs are Athlon643400, 2
WD Raptors in raid 0, additonal Maxtor drive, WinXP Pro SP2. I wanted to leave
the WinXP installation alone because of the raid array. I was unable to find
sufficient info on dual booting with raid 0. I booted from the CD and
proceeded to install Ubuntu. Everything was going OK until it got to the drive
to install GRUB to. It was defaulted to hd0 which is the raid array or one of
the raid drives. I changed it to the 2nd drive, hd1. My plan was to change
the boot sequence in the BIOS when I wanted to use Linux. The installation
then faulted out. If this is not proper or not the best way to do it, please
let me know a better way. I am already finding myself in the Linux environment
more and more, which makes it a pain in the @ss to manually change the boot
sequence in the BIOS.
Thanks,
Jullian
