Rich how is this a new problem? to me it has the exact same symptoms of the original bug. It was fixed, and it restarted 2 days ago. its even worse now, since running gnome-power-manager will not fix the power management or bright applet. And since https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/242665 isnt fix either, i have to manually set my power setting by hand every time I change from battery to AC or vice-versa, inducing more crashes.
