Dear Ogasawara Thanks for the msg. I have now installed the 8.10 Beta 1 and give my feedback:
Apropos Linux Kubuntu 8.10 beta 1. Kernel version 2-6-27-5-generic. My feedback is as under: (1).The windows partitions (Drives) are not mounting and there is no option to mount them. Hence unable to open files saved under Windows. (2).The internet consumption/downloading speeds details available under Options in the Konqueror Network popup window in Kubuntu 8.04 not availabe in 8.10 Beta. (3).At the time of booting, the following msgs are appearing: (a). Aperture beyond 4 GB Ignoring. (b). Your BIOS does not leave an aperture memory hole (c). Please enable IOMMU option in the BIOS set-up (d). This costs you 64 MB of ram (4). Media Storage option showing all the drives/partitions not available. (5). Adept does not have 'REPOSITORIES' option as was available upto the 8.04 version. (5). While logging out, the screen blanks and turns into read and hangs.(though this does not appear with Kernel 2-6-27-4-generic).
