Public bug reported: The Clock applet has the ability to show the weather for locations configured by the user via its Preferences, and it's available without user intervention on fresh installations' gnome-panels. However, for the past few weeks it has not worked on my laptop (a fresh Ubuntu 8.04 installation), regardless of the locations I chose and the timezone on the system.
I then had the brilliant idea of adding a Weather applet to work around the bug, and lo and behold both the Weather applet and the Clock applet were now updating and showing the same information. After removing the Weather applet and leaving the Clock applet, logging out or restarting etc., the weather stayed in the Clock applet. Additional information is available upon request, though this seems to be a software error unrelated to the laptop's hardware configuration, compiz running etc. ** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Clock applet does not display weather until weather applet added https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279994 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
