I'm not original poster either, but I also have the problem with non- working suspend and hibernate with xubuntu 8.10 beta on my HP compaq nc8430 laptop; when I choose either alternative from the 'quit' window in xfce, the window disappears, but nothing else happens (as if I had chosen 'cancel').
I also installed KDE, and tried the 'suspend-to-ram' and 'suspend-to- disk' alternatives from the 'leave' menu, but again, nothing happened. $ uname -a Linux porter 2.6.27-6-generic #1 SMP Tue Oct 7 04:15:04 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux Output of the commands 'dmesg' and 'sudo lspci -vvnn' attached. ** Attachment added: "dmesg_lspci.tar" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18303143/dmesg_lspci.tar -- Suspend-to-disk (hibernate) and suspend-to-ram do not work anymore https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117555 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
