No, using the 8.10 Beta Desktop CD download a few minutes ago I could no reproduce this symptom.
The cam is now working using Ekiga, but not right. I looks like the sensor is seeing to much light. I've to be out of any direct light and close to the cam to see myslef, and the background is always bright white. I couldn't get it to work on Camorama or Cheese.
