> WARNING: /sys/module/nvidia_new/drivers does not exist, cannot rebind nvidia_new driver
This is entirely expected and just a warning. This doesn't work for the nvidia driver. > jockey-kde[6834]: segfault at [...] This is more interesting. Probably a bug in the KDE libraries. Do you have a crash report for jockey under /var/crash/ ? Can you please run /usr/share/apport/apport-qt -c /var/crash/_usr_bin_jockey-kde*.crash and create a new report through our standard crash reporting tool? (That will have more information which will help us with fixing the bug). > "status: in use, but not enabled" Right, this status is confusing. This is fixed in Ubuntu Intrepid. The remaining, and most important, issue here is the freeze of your system after you enabled nvidia. So the driver doesn't seem to work for your particular card. Can you please cut&paste the output of lspci -n |grep 0300 here? This will give us the vendor/product ID of your graphics card. Thank you! ** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: jockey => linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 Status: New => Incomplete -- [hardy] system freeze when starting X (msi nx8800gt) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236412 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
