There has been 5 months since this bug was reported, and still, there is no improvement at all. I can confirm this same bug for the latest Ubuntu 8.10 too. Another thind I forgot to mantion in the bug report, is that when I run some appication with gksu, there is a long delay (~10s) before the password prompt appears. (Its not slow connection problem - the 2 computers are on a LAN).
