Please follow the instructions at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=766560&highlight=bcm4318 Looks like a lot of work but it definitely brings your broadcom card to work. As this solution uses the windows driver in ndiswrapper it leads to the conclusion that the proprietary driver is Not working for some reason. It installed automatically, it shows the wireless networks but it did not connect in any way with WEP, WAP, and even without protection. So I gave up after a couple of days and used the above mentioned link. That connected instantly with 100% bandwith (the proprietary driver showd 70% although the wireless transmitter was only half a meter from my pc).
