** Description changed: - Binary package hint: yelp - This is a continuation of bug #93067 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/93067). I have continued to experience the high pitch electronic noise under Feisty, Hardy and now Intrepid. Under Hardy, the noise was only present to a small degree. Last night I upgraded to 8.10 Beta and the noise has seemingly become louder. The "# echo 2 > /sys/module/processor/parameters/max_cstate" work around used to work for me under Feisty, but has not worked for some time since this parameter was removed from recent kernel revisions(?). Are there any new work arounds for this issue. Is there additional information which I may provide to help in this situation.
