I confirm this bug on current Kubuntu beta. When using Logitech EX 100 keyboard, volume actually changes (pcm) but the volume meter that appears is stuck at current volume (shows front channel's volume).
Workaround: change master channel (from tray icon, not sure of the english name) to pcm.
