I still encounter the problem. However, it seems to be related to the URL used to access the forum:
1. http://kubuntuforums.net/forums standard login, login from memory, user name stays. 2. http://www.kubuntuforum.net/ no login from memory, user name reverts to 'guest' when switching to a sub-forum. The first URL does not produce the error. It also retains the user name/login name.
