the same problem here on Intrepid Ibex, most recent patches applied. System is a Toshiba M200 with 1400x1050 resolution and NVidia GeForce Go5200 32M/64M. The font on the login screen is much too big for the small box. Tried the gdm.conf change to -dpi 96.
