I have the same mobo arriving on the 3rd. I'm going to try and install Ubuntu 8.01 (Hardy) with kernel 2.6.24-19-generic threw IDE optical. If it installed well I'll post here and everywhere else.
There is a new beta released for Ubuntu 8.10 with kernel 2.6.27. http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/intrepid/alpha6 (I do not recommend installing this on the Abit IB9 mobo!) Read the WARNINGS on the alpha 6 page! When the new Ubuntu (8.10) Intrepid Ibex with kernel 2.6.27 is final on October 30th I will hope all Abit IB9 bugs are fixed. Any thoughts on continuing this topic anyone? I'm sure this will not be the end of the problems.
