There are many music and media players available for Ubuntu which
duplicate the functionality of iTunes. The problem isn't the iTunes
player, but hosting the download version at Apple's iTunes Music Store.
The streaming version the file at http://mitworld.mit.edu/play/264/ is
supported by Ubuntu.

Several projects are working to provide access Linux access to the
iTunes Music Store. However, none appear to be approved by Apple and are
likely to violate Apple's Terms of Service for use of their Store.

Some users have reported success installing some versions of iTunes for
Windows using Wine. Wine is available in your Add/Remove application.
