I can confirm the same with Intrepid on the Catalan translation. The only strings translated are those from KDE 3.
KDE 4 translations have not been imported to Ubuntu yet. They had some kind of strange problem with Rosetta and have to approve all changes manually. The Ubuntu Team is showing absolutely no interest in KDE nor localisation. I hope we can get those packages updated for the final release (I already assume we won't have them in the beta).
