Because vlc is now added as both a dvd movie and audio cd player choice
for default player a few comments on the default launch command.

Using %U will cause many commercial dvds to fail when vlc is called from
dvd insertion. In these cases they have to run from vlc's file -> open
disc menu to open. Using %m resolves this

Right click on dvd icon -> open with vlc also fails with %U. Using %m
resolved in 0.9.2, fails also in 0.9.3

Opening a VIDEO_TS folder on the hdd with right click -> open with vlc
will result in no navigation, ie. stuck on the menu if there is one,
with %U. This also is resolved by using %m.

Both launch commands fail when a VIDEO_TS folder is accessed from vlc
->file -> open directory. (due to vlc jumping past VIDEO_TS.IFO

As far a audio cd's
Using vlc as default cd player with %U when an audio cd is inserted there is no
playback. Using %m will allow playback upon cd insertion with a issue. All cd's
with less than 10 tracks will playback perfectly, all with 10 or more will
start at track 10. (playlist will be ordered 10 thru end, 1 thru 9.

Some of these issues with %U existed in 8.04 also and using %m solved them as
here in 8.10.(with all vlc versions
I'm wondering why the adherence to a broken launch command (I see no downside
to %m

side note: creating an alternate .desktop with it's own custom Exec=
allows perfect audio cd playback. (in regards to autoplay
