Hey Folks, I guess things figured themselves out after reloading sound and a re- boot.
I guess such a simple solution, I just have not had to reboot in a long time due to updates. There was no notification as usual for a reboot either. I guess for a moment Ubuntu was acting like windows (smirk). Problem solved, bug closed.
