  I updated to most recent firefox on 9/26/8 3.03 . Now when I type CTRL
  +F or CTRL +G or the "/" key I do not get a search in page or find
  window to show up anywhere. Previously this window would appear on the
  borrom bar to search for text in the displayed page

+ UPDATE: This problem disappears with a new profile. Only the old profile has 
issues with opening a FIND input box
