Public bug reported:

I can't seem to change the resolution for the Ubuntu splash screen
during startup.

>From grub, I attempt to add vga=790 on the kernel parameter, but I
receive an error message saying that it is not recognized. When it asks
me what I want to do, I press enter to display available resolutions:

Mode: COL*ROWS:
0 0F00 80*25 VGA
1 0F01 80*50 VGA
2 0F02 80*43 VGA
3 0F03 80*28 VGA
4 0F05 80*30 VGA
5 0F06 80*34 VGA
6 0F07 80*60 VGA

Now, my screen is capable of 1280x800 since thats the resolution i'm
using at the moment without any trouble. So why isn't it being displayed
here? I'm also quite sure my graphics card is capable of it. Nvidia
GeForce Go 7600
