Update: Apparently I am unable to connect to the network automatically,
in other words, clicking on the name of the network in the network-
manager applet dropdown menu, but when I create the network manually I
am then able to connect to it correctly. When I was creating the network
manually I noticed that if I clicked on where it said "New..." and
selected the auto eduroam network from the list all of the textboxes and
such were all grayed out, as well as the ok button, and my password
isn't there, so even if the ok button wasn't grayed out it woudn't allow
to me connect anyways cause there would be no password and no way to
insert it because all of the textboxes are grayed out as well.

** Attachment added: "The username is there, I just took it out via GIMP"
